The Arts and Humanities Program exists to further the long tradition of cathedral churches being a home for artistic expression. This program oversees all arts and humanities events in The Cathedral of the Madeleine, including the Madeleine Festival (spring), the Eccles Organ Festival (autumn) and the Cathedral Concert Series (year round). Additionally, the arts and humanities program offers opportunities for Utah performing artists to present programs appropriate for the cathedral throughout the year.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir to open

 the 2009 Madeleine Festival

In celebration of the cathedral’s centennial year in 2009, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will open the Madeleine Festival with two historic concerts on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 in The Cathedral of the Madeleine, both at 8 PM . Like all festival events, these concerts will be free of admission charge and open to the public; however, due to anticipated high demand these concerts will be ticketed events.  Requests for tickets will not be accepted until approximately January 2, 2009, with information on the application process to be posted on this web site in the autumn of 2008.

Although not all requests for tickets may be fulfilled due to anticipated high demand, two guaranteed seating passes to all 2009 Madeleine Festival events—including two tickets to your choice of one of the Tabernacle Choir concerts—are provided to all Friends of the Madeleine Festival who donate a minimum of $45.00.  If you are interested in becoming a Friend of the Madeleine Festival, CLICK HERE for a membership application.
